Evening walk in the garden of the Byzantine Museum

End of September in Athens, Greece. The weather was still hot with a slight fresh evening wind to accompany us in our walk. We arrived at the gates of the Byzantine Museum just in time to see the sun go down spreading the sky with a beautiful pink-orange color.

The Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece was exhibiting the latest work of its sculptors.

Our short walk left us with a strong feeling of repetition and no authenticity. Few extraordinary compositions triggered our attention as Dimitra Stavrinidou’s with the cat in the tank and her well-known ceramic fishes hanging above. We also admired the sculpturing technique on the marble work of Ioannis Gouzos with his folded Greek flag and the different faces sculptured on the rocks by Michalis Kevgas.
